My name is Christine, and I am the CEO of Freelance N' Freedom. I am a Harvard-trained Virtual Freedom Strategist who helps women break free from their corporate job and start their own virtual business. I help women follow their passion so they can have unlimited vacation, travel the world, make their own schedule and live the freedom lifestyle they've always dreamed of.
I started Freelance N’ Freedom in 2018 with the goal of being able to help women entrepreneurs grow their businesses through project support, research, admin support, and organization.
My Virtual Project Management business completes projects and tasks, which in turn gives the business owner the freedom to have time to focus on other areas. At the same time, working virtually gives me the freedom to pursue my passion to travel.
I support my clients through coaching, event planning, project management, creating social media content, and research. With clear honest communication, and strong attention to detail, I give you back time that you never thought you would have! If you would like to schedule a call to see how we can work together, please hit "Schedule Appointment" above and choose a time that works for you. I look forward to learning about you and your business and seeing how I can help it grow.
Tired of the 9 to 5 and not at all feeling alive. It sounds so cliché, but I knew there had to be more for me to do out there. This described me and what my life had come to at the end of 2017. After I graduated college in 2005, I jumped around from job to job until 2007 when I landed as a paralegal in a Workers Compensation law firm in Boston. I worked there for four years and then had the opportunity to move back to Seville, Spain where I had lived and studied for a year in college. I loved living in southern Spain with the warm sunshine and the ability to travel inexpensively with its proximity to the rest of Europe. While teaching English in Spain from 2011-2013, I fell head over heels with a man from Morocco and decided it would be best to move back to the states to get married.
When I returned home in the fall of 2013, I secured a job at the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston as a Program Manager in the Department of Executive and Continuing Professional Education. There I planned and ran leadership conferences and events for physicians and other executives in the health field. In 2016, I went through an extremely difficult divorce which left me worn out and feeling defeated. I knew that it was time for a change, and so I began joining online communities and networking to learn other opportunities that were available to me.
I quickly learned that there were thousands of men and women who were freelancing and running their own businesses while traveling the world at the same time. Ever since my first experience in Spain during college, I have had the urge and passion to travel. While Harvard offered excellent benefits and vacation, I felt that it was not for me. Why couldn’t I have the freedom to travel when I wanted and work from where I wanted like the thousands of other digital nomads that I had encountered in my search? I decided that I could and I would.
In the fall of 2017, I had had enough with the 9 to 5 office job, Harvard politics, Boston winters, and limited vacation time. I decided then that I would work for one more year and then move to a new, warmer climate, or take off and travel while working remotely. After I finished my Masters in the spring of 2018, I decided to venture into the freelancing world and work part-time to get my business up and running.
The Start of Freelance N’ Freedom
In September of 2018, I left Harvard and relocated to Miami, Florida. My journey inspired me to create my Virtual Project Management business. I launched my business on September 15th, 2018 and officially registered it as Freelance N’ Freedom. During my five years at Harvard, I was able to learn top-notch customer service skills, new project management skills, successfully run numerous conferences and events both local and international, and participated in the Harvard Mentoring program. I also earned my Masters from Harvard in International Relations in May, 2018. Now, I coach women who want to be entrepreneurs that are unhappy working in their day job. I also support women entrepreneurs in the areas of event planning, project management, social media content, and administrative help.
In my first year of being the CEO of Freelance N’ Freedom, I have assisted 26 business owners with various projects and tasks. I also have become a founding board member of Leading With Love, a non-profit that helps high-school girls learn how to love and value themselves through workshops and community service with the goal of sending a group of them to Costa Rica in the spring of 2020. It has been very rewarding being able to mentor and participate in an organization whose mission aligns with my own values and beliefs.
Since September, I myself have visited 12 new countries to add to 60 countries total since I started traveling at age 19. It is my goal in 2019 to visit a new country every month, all while helping other women start their virtual businesses. While working for myself has been a challenge at times, it allows me to pursue my goals, while helping other women pursue theirs, which is very rewarding.
